  1. My favorite Christmas tradition is putting up the tree. It was always my favorite thing to do on the day after Thanksgiving when I was a little kid, and I love it even more now that I have my own kids!! Thanks for the giveaway!

  3. My kids are 23 and 27 but I insist we all go hunting for our tree. I also insist on pics with Santa but we bought DH a Santa suit so we can do that at home!

  4. My favorite Christmas tradition is going out every Friday night in December looking at Christmas lights with DH and the kids - we listen to Christmas music while we drive around, too. Such a good time!

  5. I have many but I think my favorite is I make cinnamon rolls with yummy sticky frosting...we don't normally eat these but it was something mom always did for Christmas morning so now the smell of them cooking in the oven just feels like mom's love reaching down from heaven...

  9. Our traditions have changed over the years due to family changes...one of our newer ones is going to the Glendale Glitters event (xmas lights and festival on Txgiving weekend), so that my son (now 8) can play in snow...it's man-made, but living in sunny Phoenix makes it a rare and fun event!! (gotta get some snow pics so I can use those beautiful winter sb'ing lines)

  10. My favorite tradition is making christmas cookie night. I got to start two years ago when I started dating my boyfriend. His mom bakes hundreds of cookies and their entire family and some friends come over to decorate them. The best designer gets a prize. It is a fun night and I look forward to it every year! :)

  12. I think one of my favorite traditions is the way we open presents on Christmas morning. We all sit in a big circular fashion and go around the circle opening packages one by one. That way, the recipient is more apt to see who the present is from, and everyone can see what they received and their reaction and can take pics, instead of everyone just tearing into all the presents at once. There's always a lot of joking and ribbing about who runs out first, and who still has presents after everyone else is done! LOL!

Thanks for the opportunity to win this issue! It looks like a good one! ~Bev~

  13. My favorite tradition is opening a present on Christmas eve and just sitting and watching the lights on the tree and enjoying the beauty of Christmas. I would like to say we have more traditions, but it changed depending on my work schedule and again as our daughters got older and had their own families and extended families.

Hi Erika, My favorite tradition is not just putting up the tree and decorating, it is taking my DS who is 7 yrs old to our favorite restaurant in town to have lunch with Santa. My DS actually believes this Santa is the real deal as he has been haing lunch with Santa every year since he was born. I love to see the look on his face when we walk in.

Thank you for the chance to win.

  16. Thanks, Erika! My favorite holiday tradition has become our annual watching of the Charlie Brown Christmas special. We have it on DVD so we can watch it whenever. But it's our tradition to watch it Dec 23rd. We spread out a picnic blanket on the living room floor and have an indoor picnic while watching this classic! My whole family looks forward to it every year!

  20. Hi Erika and thanks what a geat blog you have! Congrats on being so productive.
Christmas traditions weren't a big thing in my family as you know here in NZ it is summer so i would have to say chilling out after all the formalities and having a 'barbie' with left overs! fave memories as a child though...when all the christmas morning rush was over and every other kid on the street had opened there presents, we had to wait till mum got home from working night shifts and had a sleep! So our presents were not opened until late afternoon and still the excitement was there the whole of christmas day! fond memories, it did become our own tradition. It seems mum worked nightshift every public holiday, but we got used to it! Thanks for this opportunity to tell my story!
